What an idiot that guy was. It's 100% the monster's fault that he got hurt. Sure, Silva wouldn't have been hurt if they were stronger and could have protected themselves, but by that's really dumb logic.

It's actually more realistic than most cross-gender reincarnations. Behaviour of a person is mainly dictated by the body. Even if she was a man before, now she is truly woman. Her main traits are the same, but gender related behaviour changed with her gender. That's because her body and brain chemistry is different.

Her old self, which experienced life as a man is long dead, it's not normal to have memories of being somebody else, we could only guess brain would like to get rid of them. That's why she's not attached to her old life, she probably barely remembers it. We can hardly remember how we used to act as a child when we are 30+ years old, why she would remember how she was in another lifetime?

The problem is, at no point during the run of the anime they said that she forgot. The opposite, she remembers everything, even as a baby she was able to observe, think, deduce, and act by using ther pwoer (ether) she gained in her past self. Throughout the episodes she is trying to understand what happened to the world and where the hell is the empire she ruled. The simplest explanation is that the creator had a girly story on his hands; wanted his MC to have battle junkie traits and her past life was that convenient. These things happen when the author starts writing something, makes a lot of progress, and then comes back and rewrites the beginning without reworking everything accordingly. The other possibility is that the director is just too used to directing "cute girls doing cute things" genre and reworked the story.

Well every explanation is plausible, but you shouldn't make assumptions that she remembers everything based on her using the power from past self and her knowledge of past events. She could be able to use the power and have memory of past events, without actually remembering how she used to be in her past life.

I can make that assumption since the anime has literally told us that she remembers everything. Just watch episode 6 again. Also, further can confirm since I've read the novels where in she on several occasions thinks back to her life as the hero king with perfect clarity. Including the entirety of volume 6 which is all about her past life

In the novels, where we get to read her internal monologue, she sees herself as the same entity as the hero king. She doesn't really give a shit about the gender one way or another and decides to go the feminine route in terms of her looks because she likes the way her new body looks. But even after 15 years (all of which she can remember perfectly hence why she thinks of Rani as a grand daughter) she still has a bit of a disconnect between her mind and body. For instance, whenever admiring herself in front of the mirror she looks at herself more as an outside observer rather than the person being shown off.
Really the only feelings she has towards her gender is that she doesn't want to be with men because her preferences haven't changed

Gender is social construct. The body is ultimately not the function that dictates the behavior, the society is. Men used to wear tights and skirts and it was considered manly af back then. Now? Not so. Red (color) was also associated more with men because of blood (idea is that you can't see the bloodstains), again, times change. The behavior of both men and women are thus not actually dictated by body but rather the society they live in. So she actually had to change her behavior ON PURPOSE to not be shunned by society. As it turns out however, humans change without changing sex. Think back on your life 10 or 20 years ago and ponder if you would have made the same choices or if your personality was different that it is now.
